One of my favourite drinks in the world is Ribena. I prefer the carton to the bottle. Just think it tastes better. One thing I’ve noticed when I’m drinking ribena from a carton is whenever I come towards the end of the carton, there always seems to be more. Most people would throw their carton away at that point but I like to make sure I get every drop out of my money.
My favourite verse in the bible is Ephesians 3:20, it speaks of a truth that I think we can see in the ribena carton. There is more inside of you than you think. That more isn’t based on how great you are, but it is based on who is inside of you.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.
Sometimes life sucks all your energy out of you, it folds you up, it beats you up, it screws you up and throws you aside. But this never changes the fact that there is more in you. When you feel you have nothing left to give, there is another drop of hope, faith, love and grace inside of you. Don’t give up!
What does more mean?
A greater quantity, additional or further.
The more in you was never about you, but about what has been placed in YOU. There are great gifts and great talents. And the feeling of lack, the circumstances and situations that seem as if they are supposed to rock you or destroy you are actually there to shape you.
The more in you starts in him and it his him who does great things in you and through you.
It’s immeasurably more – it is more than you think, ask for or imagine. The more is greater, it is additional to what you have and it will take you further than you can go by yourself. There is no measure to the more!
And it’s according to the power that is at work in you – the power of the Holy Spirit. The same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead! How powerful is that!?
Be encouraged today, that no matter how hard or how pressed you feel. There is a power at work in you! And that means that even if the carton of your life feels empty, THERE IS MORE!
